Good news Liverpool fans- looks like Alisson is on his way back.
We haven’t had the best of luck in terms of injuries. First with Keita, then Alisson and Origi, and now with Shaqiri and Mane; Liverpool are quite lucky we have strong backups. However, looks like fortune is turning in our favour as Alisson looks set to return.
The Golden Glove winner has been out of action since he injured his calf in the opening game against Norwich. The Brazilian’s absence hasn’t been too sorely missed, with Adrian managing to help the Reds keep up their perfect start.
Now he’s given fans a personal update on where he stands:
“I’m on a good way, I think we are nearly there,” the 26 year-old announced. “I feel confident and I think now it’s just about getting all my power, all my confidence to come back and do what I love to do.” (Mirror).
Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world right now, after winning numerous accolades for his 2018/19 campaign. The Brazilian, who has just won FIFA’s goalie of the year, was an integral part to Liverpool’s defence; he managed to keep 21 clean sheets and concede only 19 goals in the Premier League.
He also helped Liverpool win their sixth European trophy and the Copa America with Brazil.
The Liverpool number one won’t be rushing his recovery, but it’s more than likely that we will see him don the Red gloves after the international break.
It will be good to have you back Alisson.
