The Manchester City manager has just complimented Klopp’s squad by calling them one of the best he’s ever seen.
“The team ahead of us is one of the best teams I have ever seen in my career” said Guardiola. “They have lost one (Premier League) game in 18 months.” (Express)
However, is this a tactic that could be intended to throw us off our game? It’s a little surprising that Guardiola would throw this compliment out right after City thrashed Watford 8-0. Especially as it came right before our game with Chelsea.
It could be possible that Guardiola is trying to add pressure to our squad. With the media’s constant attention focused on last year’s champions, there is no doubt that the public have high expectations of the team. Since Liverpool are ahead of the Blues, they are probably feeling unnerved. You can see how desperately they want to win with the way they played against Watford.
But the thing is- we want it just as much.

In fact, we want it more.
Our team played amazing on Sunday.
This had been the first real test of the season for us, particularly after coming off a 2-0 defeat against Napoli. Most of the public were probably expecting us to drop a few points today, thinking a draw would have been the best possible outcome.
Yet, the Reds proved them all wrong. We had the defence to thank for putting in all the hard work and effort as they managed to hold off Chelsea. Although we still didn’t manage to keep a clean sheet, Adrian performed great with the fantastic saves he pulled out.
So whether Guardiola used it as a tactic or actually meant it, there is no doubt that Klopp’s squad will go far.
