It is never an easy game for Liverpool, going away to Stamford Bridge. Looking ahead to the weekend, we identify 3 Chelsea players Liverpool must stop in order for the Reds to continue their 100% start to the season.
Chelsea’s starting striker has been in excellent form this season. The 21 year old netted a hat trick against Wolves last week and has 7 goals in 5 Premier League games this season. This has put him 3 goals off Marcus Rashford’s best ever return in the English top flight. He has proven to be an imposing striker with an electric turn of pace, Virgil van Dijk will have to be on his best form.
The tireless midfielder is set to return to the Chelsea starting lineup this weekend after rejoining first team training in the week. He is an immense presence on the pitch despite his diminutive frame. He had his role within the team adapted by Maurizio Sarri. When Jorginho arrived at the base of the Blues midfield, the Frenchman was pushed into a more advanced position. He will be looking to frustrate the Liverpool midfield, we need to make sure we don’t give him the chance.
The American winger was heavily linked with Liverpool before his transfer to Chelsea was agreed in January. The former Dortmund man has had an ok start to life at the Blues but has plenty more to offer. He has electric pace and if he starts he will be looking to keep the Liverpool full backs pinned in their own half by playing high on the wing.
