In what could prove to be a pivotal weekend in the Premier League season, Liverpool cruised to a 3-1 home victory against Newcastle and Man City fell victim to a plucky Norwich side as the division’s new boys won 3-2 at home against the Champions. The weekend’s action ended with the Reds now 5 points ahead of last season’s winners Man City, Jürgen Klopp’s men have won all 5 of their opening games whilst Pep Guardiola’s blues have already registered a draw and a defeat. Despite the Anfield side looking unstoppable, Jürgen Klopp still ranks Man City as the best side in the world. This should delight Kopites.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, published on the club’s YouTube channel, Klopp said “Man City is the best team in the world”.

Guardiola is seemingly cracking up under the duress of a decimated back line, heaping more pressure on them with the weight of expectation can only serve to benefit the Reds’ title charge. With all the belief behind Man City, Jürgen Klopp can continue doing what has made him to unstoppable of late. The Anfield side have just been taking each game one at a time, never dwelling on impressive displays or broken records, just moving forward.

Liverpool have thrived as the underdog in recent years. At the start of the 18/19 season, nobody thought that the Reds could reach the Champions League final, they did so with ease. Liverpool thrashed everybody on their way, even putting 5 past Roma in the first leg of their semi final. Last year Jürgen’s Reds turned over a 3-0 deficit against Barcelona. We suit being underdogs, the longer that people think City will rescue the league, the longer we will continue to extend our lead.
