He has been incredibly impressive in Serie A. He performed so well in his first season in Italy that Real Madrid and Barcelona are already plotting his return to Spain according to Calciomercato.

Ruiz registered five goals and four assists in 20 starts in his first top flight Italian season. The Naples side won’t be keen on losing the player given that he has only just arrived at the club. The side set to meet Liverpool for a second consecutive season in the Champions League are seeking to end Juventus’s dominance of Serie A. The Turin side have won the last 8 top division titles, Napoli were second best last year, finishing 11 points behind the winners.

With Maradona’s old team needing all the help they can get in order to oust Juve from their perch, they are likely to force any potential suitors to pay the full whack of his release clause – reported to be €70m (£62m).

Jürgen Klopp is always looking to strengthen the side and the midfielder appears to be a top talent. However, it will take this season to tell. If the Spaniard maintains his form then he could be hard to ignore. If Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returns to his best form and Marko Grujic continues to impress then there is no space for the Napoli player.
