A truly great 2018/19 season has turned a group of nearly men into arguably the best team in European football.
On the back acquiring a huge point haul in the Premier League and becoming European champions it’s time to take the next step.
Liverpool must capitalise on this golden era and reclaim the perch they once sat on for so long.
In order to do just that they will need last season to be a catalyst for a trophy-laden period that see’s the team challenging on all fronts.
For too long the domestic cup competitions have been pushed to the side as Liverpool go in search of that elusive Premier League title.
Not since the 2012 League cup triumph have Liverpool lifted a domestic cup. Whilst the FA cup drought stretches all the way back to 2006. Far too long for a team of such standing in English football.
Winning breeds more winning and now must be the time when Liverpool capitalise by claiming any and all trophies on offer.
The ultimate prize will remain the coveted Premier League title. Secondary to that a seventh European cup is of course desirable but it is important we do not neglect other avenues of success.
This Liverpool team can challenge on more than two fronts and will need to do just that in order to cement themselves at the top of the English game.
First up the Reds travel to MK Dons later this month as they begin their challenge for the Carabao Cup .
