Liverpool are chasing Villareal’s Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, according to a report by the Metro. The 20-year-old winger has impressed at Villareal since breaking into the first-team.
A key figure in his side’s U17 World Cup win in 2017, the winger is known for his blistering pace and trickery. Should Liverpool bid for Chukwueze to complete an all-star African attack?
With transfer market inflation showing no signs of slowing down and Europe’s giants tracking the youngster, Liverpool would have to pay handsomely.
The winger is still very young and has already shown great adaptability. Making the move from Nigeria to Villareal wasn’t the easiest but the Super Flacons prodigy was determined. Speaking in an interview published on the 5th of September 2019 by Goal, he said “I love Spain; my Spanish is improving”.
Arjen Robben is the wonder-kid’s idol.
He continued “I will still stick on clips of Robben and watch his goals, his dribbling. He’s my inspiration”.
Religiously studying one of modern football’s greatest wingers is a good sign. If the Reds manage to pull it off they would be getting a player that is committed to improving his game.
Should Liverpool bid for Chukwueze? He could be our best option for bolstering our attacking options without having to free up space.
If Liverpool want to keep their current trio intact then the Villareal star would be the perfect deputy.
