Adrián has had big shoes to fill with Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper injured. However, the team may struggle if Alisson doesn’t return before the knock-out stages.
I know, I know, that’s a long way off. But we don’t know the extent of Alisson’s injury. All Klopp has told us that it will “take time” (Yahoo News) before the Brazilian will be back to regular fitness. So why do I believe the Reds may struggle without Alisson? Simply because we have more chance of leaking goals.
Up to now, the Red men have managed to have the perfect start with four consecutive wins. However, there’s no denying we have slightly let up in the defence by managing to keep one clean sheet compared to the three we kept this time last year.
We were even lucky to get away with the win at Southampton as the defence looked shaky and Adrián’s made an error that led to a goal.

Liverpool will need to have a stronger defence if they are to last in the Champion’s League.
Alisson’s performance was key in Liverpool becoming champions, with the 26 year-old keeping six clean sheets and conceding just twelve goals (the Punch). This is something Adrián will have to work on as clean sheets are a necessity in the knock-out stages.
It is still a early days yet, so maybe it’s too early to judge Adrián.
Time will tell in the next few weeks.
