Bobby Duncan has divided opinion in the last week after sensational claims by the player’s agent. The same agent that handled the blossoming career of Saido Berahino – that went well didn’t it?
After much public debate and controversy, it looks as though Bobby Duncan’s transfer to Fiorentina is finally about to get over the line, with the Italian club tabling a more acceptable offer and including a 20% sell on clause (the Guardian).
The Liverpool faithful have taken to twitter to voice their opinion on Duncan’s departure. Many feel that Liverpool have dodged a bullet.
Bobby Duncan is set to join fiorentina on 3 year permanent deal.
This guys attitude wasn’t going to get him anywhere near first team. Just watch Brewster and Elliot show this guy that being patient is how you will get first team at Liverpool 👏 pic.twitter.com/DrJzt1KqTr

Bobby Duncan to fiorentina? New ravel Morrison

Yet some Twitter users believe that the player’s controversial agent Saif Rubie is to blame for the move, accusing him of manipulating an impressionable and ambitious youngster in order to further his own financial interests.
Find it surprising that Bobby Duncan is so set on leaving Liverpool – the club he has supported his whole life – so soon. Off to Fiorentina for £1.82m, 20% sell-on clause included. Saif Rubie is toxic, perhaps this is the best solution. #LFC

Don’t blame it on Duncan.
Don’t blame it on Jurgen.
Don’t blame it on Edwards.
Blame it on Saif Rubie!

Another young prospect in the football world led astray by a clown of an agent… Shame for us, looked a talent.

Some are just glad that a young talent has a better chance at playing some football.
Best wishes for Bobby Duncan, hope he gets chances at Fiorentina and make his name there. Nothing against him and his will to play first team football. Good luck

But, despite all the vitriol, well wishers, disappointment and relief, the Liverpool reaction is probably best summed up in one word:
