Jurgen Klopp has yet to lose a two-legged tie in Europe since being named Liverpool manager and this is hugely encouraging ahead of a clash with Barcelona.
The Reds will travel to Spain on Wednesday to take on Barcelona in the semifinals of the Champions League.
It will be the biggest test of Liverpool’s 2019 European campaign and a two-legged victory will see Klopp’s side progress to the final for the second time in a year.
With Manchester City likely to narrowly beat Liverpool to the Premier League title, the Anfield outfit will need to make do with a sixth Champions League honour.
Liverpool will be annoyed that they won’t be able to play at home first as securing a home win and clean sheet in the first leg has been a successful way for the Reds to progress recently.
That said, since Klopp was named Liverpool boss, he has yet to lose a European tie played across two legs.
The reversal of this stat is rather grim in that he has lost to European cup finals since 2015 but he will be hoping to strike gold on his third try.
Considering the potential heartbreak of missing out on the Premier League, winning a European cup would be a great way to make fans forget about it.
Liverpool came so close last season before being abruptly halted in their tracks by Real Madrid.
Should the Reds make it past Barcelona, they will surely be favourites to beat Ajax or Tottenham in the final.
