Spanish outlet El Confidencial has outlined the complex details of Real Madrid’s interest in Sadio Mane. Many publications have reported their interest recently.

El Chiringuito first made the claim that Zinedine Zidane wants Mane at the Bernabeu. Then earlier this week, France Football backed that claim up.

El Confidencial claim that Real are a little split over who they want, however. There’s Florentino Perez leading things, of course, and he wants either Neymar or Kylian Mbappe.

But those are lofty ambitions and, apparently, Perez is willing to acknowledge that. It means he’ll turn to Zidane to choose the new big-name forward.

And while Eden Hazard is another name under serious consideration, the Frenchman wants Mane. That may surprise some but it’s supposedly because Mane would be less complicated.

It’s not easy to know why they would think that. Mane signed a new five-year contract recently and Liverpool are in a very strong position.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are struggling and there are doubts over Maurizio Sarri. On top of that, Hazard’s contract has just one year remaining.

That would surely make a move for Hazard a lot easier to complete. Although, they do have a one-year transfer ban to contend with that would certainly influence their decision.

It will be interesting to know if Perez does give up on Neymar & Mbappe, though. He’s a man known for his big signings and you’ve got to imagine he’ll chase his goal for as long as he can.

The details of the interest from Real aren’t simple but if things move in a certain way, Liverpool and Mane will have a decision to make.
