Liverpool are set for a major injury boost next month as Joe Gomez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster are close to injury returns.
The Liverpool Echo released a comprehensive injury roundup on Sunday evening.
The roundup interestingly doesn’t mention Chamberlain once but Klopp said on Friday that he is will be fully fit after the international break.
I wrote yesterday that the midfielder’s return will propel Liverpool onto big things this season.
Joe Gomez has been out since mid-December after suffering a leg fracture against Burnley.
The Echo reports that Gomez will also make his return to action after the international break which is excellent news for Liverpool.
While Joel Matip has performed admirably in his absence, the young Englishman is by far the better defender and ball player.
His return to the squad with more European football on the horizon is a major boost as Liverpool challenge on two fronts.
Another Liverpool player that is closing in on a return from a long-term injury is Rhian Brewster.
The youngster underwent operations on both his ankle and knee but is back in full team training as he looks to earn his first senior Liverpool appearance.
Klopp said, according to the Echo: “Rhian (Brewster) trained, looked really good, but he is in the situation Ox was maybe in three weeks ago. In a really good way.”
Liverpool will have as close to a full squad as they have had all season if there are no unfortunate injuries during the international break.
