The Mirror claims that Liverpool are one of two clubs leading the chase for Nicolas Acevedo.
The other club? Manchester United, who join Liverpool in scouting him at the South American U-20 Championship.

They’re not the only ones, however, with the Mirror also naming Arsenal, Chelsea, Norwich City, and Udinese.
Liverpool are one of the favourites, though, so let’s take a look.
Who is Nicolas Acevedo?
Acevedo is a 19-year-old defensive player for, funnily enough, Liverpool FC of Montevideo.
He hasn’t played many matches, though (that we can find record of), with only four mentioned in most places. Therefore, it’s difficult to know exactly what he’s like.
He’s a defensive midfielder or centre back – we know that much – and he’s currently playing in midfield for the Uruguayan U-20’s in Chile.
Do Liverpool need Nicolas Acevedo?
It’s clearly not a case of need – he’s a very unproven teenager, still. Despite that, it is understandable that Liverpool would chase Acevedo.

The Uruguayan is clearly talented, judging by the interest in him, while he is versatile enough to play two positions. We know Klopp likes that.
All of Klopp’s attacking options play multiple positions, as do most in midfield. Acevedo fits that bill despite his inexperience – a promising sign for his development.
At the end of the day, however, we don’t know enough to answer this. He’s a highly thought of player who already meets a requirement, though. That makes Acevedo one to watch.
How likely is it?
There isn’t exactly too much to go on. The source is okay, but not perfect – especially when Liverpool are one of six clubs mentioned in the chase for Acevedo.

As for the player himself, there isn’t really enough to go on to make a call. He’s a highly-rated teenager and that makes him a natural target, but the same can be said for many.
Are Liverpool watching Acevedo interest? Almost certainly. Can we expect Liverpool to sign him? There’s still a very long way to go before we can predict that.
