Liverpool are edging closer to picking up Red Bull Salzburg forward Moanes Dabour this month if reports are to be believed.
The Reds returned to winning ways with a gritty 1-0 win over Brighton at the Amex at the weekend after starting the New Year with back to back defeats against Manchester City and Wolves in the Premier League and FA Cup respectively.
After the former beat the latter in the league on Monday evening, Liverpool had their lead at the top of the table cut back to four points and with the Merseyside outfit looking to win its first Premier League title, Klopp is reportedly looking for reinforcements.
Red Bull Salzburg forward Moanes Dabour recently claimed: “I’m going to leave Salzburg in the next few days.”
And significantly (or not), reports indicate that Dabour is edging ‘closer and closer’ to a move to Liverpool.
According to Transfer Market Web – via the Daily Star – the Israeli is getting ‘closer and closer’ to joining the Reds. They report that Klopp is weighing up whether or not to bid €25million (£22m) for the striker.
Sadio Mane has been in frustrating form recently as his first touch and decision making have let the Reds down on numerous occasions but it seems unlikely that if Michael Edwards has identified a target to provide competition for him that he would have landed on Dabour.
