Pep Guardiola has told Kevin De Bruyne that he knows where to find him if he has any issues after claims the Belgian is unhappy at Manchester City.
While some might say that Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is the best midfielder in England, before his lack of luck this season with injuries, Kevin De Bruyne was comfortably the best central midfielder in the Premier League last season.
In fact, only Mohamed Salah’s incredible, record-breaking season prevented the Belgian from being named the PFA Player of the Year as he helped Manchester City complete an extraordinary title win.
After claims that De Bruyne is unhappy with being substituted during City’s 9-0 mauling of Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup, Pep Guardiola said: “I didn’t speak with him so that one time I cannot say what he thinks because I don’t know.
“If he has a problem, he knows where I am, so I don’t know, really.”
Liverpool fans have gleefully suggested that Jurgen Klopp should take advantage of whatever unrest there is in the City camp and the fact that De Bruyne supported the Reds when he was a kid and sign the Belgian.
Of course, however, there is no chance that Guardiola and City would surrender their best player to Liverpool in the race to win the Premier League even if there might be some kind of unrest in the champions’ camp.
