Dominic King revealed that Jordan Henderson will be restored to the starting XI for Liverpool’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain and some fans on Twitter reacted in poor form.

Just a head’s up, this article might come across as ‘preachy’ but it’s something that I feel compelled to write.

On Monday, news from Dominic King broke that Jordan Henderson would be restored to the starting lineup to face Paris Saint-Germain this evening and as expected, the backlash from ‘fans’ on Twitter was, in my opinion, pathetic.

Our club’s mantra is to ensure that anyone associated with Liverpool never walk alone or feel abandoned and by not backing every player to the hilt, criticism aside, some aren’t afforded the support that should be a given at Liverpool.

Jordan Henderson might not be the most glamorous player in history but his attitude and desire to work hard have kept him at the club as long as he has been.

For me, if he plays as well as he did at Anfield against Roma in the Champions League last season, there is no reason why he shouldn’t be included in the starting XI to face PSG.

My only gripe is that I think Georginio Wijnaldum has done an excellent job and doesn’t deserve to be dropped.

The fans cited below, however, simply cannot contain their dislike for Henderson and really ought to show more support for a player that bleeds Red.

Thankfully, there is still hope as a good number of fans were supportive of Henderson if even if they might have reservations about his suitability to playing as a no.6.
