Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza has signed a new Liverpool contract and joins Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the 2018/19 season.
The arrival of Fabinho and Naby Keïta at Liverpool as starting midfielders has increased the competition for starting roles under Jürgen Klopp.
Even Jordan Henderson, who was instrumental in the Reds’ run to Champions League final last season will have a lot of work to do to ensure he starts every game this season.
For the likes of Marko Grujic and other fringe players, loan spells or even permanent exits will be considered to ensure that there is no deadwood in a squad that is aggressively challenging for silverware.
In an official statement on Liverpool’s website, it was revealed that Allan will join German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan.
The statement reads: “Allan Rodrigues de Souza has today signed an extension to his Liverpool contract and completed a deal to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan deal, subject to international clearance.
“The Brazilian midfielder, who initially moved to Anfield from Internacional in September 2015, has committed his future to the club by inking fresh terms.”
