Marko Grujic is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace while Neil Warnock is keen on signing the Serbian for the second time as the Blues prepare for a season back in the Premier League.

Despite being one of the players that Liverpool are allegedly open to selling this summer, it would be the club’s preference that Marko Grujic leave on loan, rack up some more first-team experience at a Premier League club and then re-assess in a year’s time.

The Serbian joined Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016 for £5million and since then, he has made eight appearances from the bench in the Premier League.

He is not benefitting at all from his bit-part role at Anfield and is in sore need of minutes to boost his confidence and appeal to either Jürgen Klopp or another manager looking to buy him on a permanent basis next summer.

According to Daily Mail reporter Simon Jones, Grujic is wanted on loan by Crystal Palace and the Eagles have made a late bid to lure the Serbian to London for the 2018/19 Premier League season.

Jones writes: “Cardiff City have held talks with the Reds about re-signing the Serbia international midfielder on loan.

“The 22-year-old joined the Welsh club in January and played 14 times as they secured promotion to the Premier League. Liverpool are thought to be open to the idea of the Serbia international returning to the Cardiff City Stadium for a second spell.”

Whether Grujic joins Cardiff or Crystal Palace matters little as the most important thing is that he finds regular game time within the Premier League as he is unlikely to play very much football with Liverpool after Fabinho and Naby Keïta were signed.
