European football expert Gabriele Marcotti says that he doesn’t expect Liverpool to sign Paulo Dybala and that the Argentinian wouldn’t suit Jürgen Klopp’s team.
With Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning £99.2 million move to Juventus now confirmed, attention has turned to which big name player will leave the club to make room both on the pitch and in the club’s budget.
Although there are suggestions Fiat are financing a move for the Portugal international, just as many claims point towards the fact that either Gonzalo Higuain or Paulo Dybala will be on their way this summer to ensure that FFP regulations aren’t breached.
Dybala, in particular, will fetch a massive transfer fee and could actually put Juve in the black but European football expert Gab Marcotti reckons that the 24-year-old will not be moving to Anfield.
The ESPN pundit said: “I think Juventus are hoping not to have to sell Paulo Dybala.
“They hope to raise their money in other ways.
“But I’m not sure Dybala would be a great fit for Liverpool.
“He’s a phenomenal footballer, but I’m not sure he really is the type of guy with the engine to naturally fit into that front three, which frankly I think are pretty good the way they are now.
“I think if Liverpool are going to go and spend some money, they’re certainly other areas of the pitch I would spend the money on.
“Maybe goalkeeper, maybe centre-back, maybe another body in midfield since Emre Can has gone.
“I just don’t see Dybala as a priority for Liverpool.”
