Reliable journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin has claimed on Twitter that if all things go according to plan, Nabil Fekir will be at Melwood on Sunday to have a medical.

Liverpool have already announced Fabinho as having joined from AS Monaco, with Naby Keïta also set to join the club in the coming weeks.

Jürgen Klopp is clearly a man with a plan and while the German will undoubtedly look to further reinforce the squad later in the window with the World Cup always a hindrance in the transfer season, it’s clear that he wants to get as much as he can done early doors.

Nabil Fekir has been linked with the club for over two months and Canal+ journalist was the first to break the news and also had the scoop on the Fabinho news.

On Saturday evening, Romain tweeted that Fekir and his agent Jean-Pierre Bernès would be in Liverpool on Sunday to thrash out a few details and if all goes to plan, the French international will have his medical at Melwood training ground.

Signing the 24-year-old would add significant quality to the Liverpool midfield and would also bring leadership to a side that has, at times, lacked strong characters.

With 23 goals for Lyon last season, it’s undeniable that Fekir will also add a veritable threat going forward and will provide competition for the wide positions in Klopp’s favoured 4-3-3 formation.
