Speaking on his YouTube channel, Guillem Balague has stated that Barcelona are willing to loan Ousmane Dembele out this summer but are not yet ready to sell.

Despite the fact that the Reds are just two days away from the club’s biggest game in a decade, the transfer rumours continue to float around.

Liverpool are continually linked with new players, with Jürgen Klopp reportedly keen to sign a host of talented players, with La Liga expert Guillem Balague chatting about one reported target, Ousmane Dembele.

In a video on his YouTube channel, the Spanish journalist discusses how willing Barcelona are to part with their French winger this summer.

Balague said: “In terms of Dembele, Barcelona have considered loaning him but not selling him.

“He gives glimpses of what he can give so it would have to be a side that can give him regular football.

“But they haven’t given up on the possibility of him staying. They have to wait on that because [Antoine] Griezmann comes first. Barcelona are convinced that they’ve convinced Griezmann to join, but nothing has been signed.”

A loan move for Dembele is not ideal as Liverpool will merely be developing a player who would then return to a club that has dealt in bad faith during transfer negotiations with the Reds before.

That said, however, a permanent transfer would be hugely expensive, after the 19-year-old sealed a £135 million move to Catalonia last year.

A loan to buy agreement would be better but it’s unlikely to be one that Barcelona agree to.

Just like you, I am a hugely passionate Liverpool supporter. I started Rousing the Kop in January 2015 and since then it has grown tremendously and has even been nominated as 'Best New Football Blog' in the Football Blogging Awards.

  1. Not a chance. Liverpool do not exist to fix Barca’s self inflicted problems. Typically they seduce a player and then use when it doesn’t work for the them they attempt to trade them as a commodity. That’s why players now want to go to Liverpool, because when Liverpool commit to you, you become part of a family and are treated accordingly.

  2. So, that’s that then? Can we now focus on the likes of Wilson or even Ojo?

We don’t need first team players. Anyone coming in is unlikely to dislodge any of our front three.
So, the need of the hour is someone who’s willing to play backup, coming in when required, yet being developed and groomed to take up a starting role in the future.

Someone like….gasp…..Wilson, Ojo or if he hasn’t been permanently damaged and mentally scarred, Kent!
