Dave Davis has sought medical insight into recent social media activity from Mo Salah and Jordan Henderson.

Having seen both Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson’s photos on Instagram in the last few days, fans have been quick to query whether either are carrying any knocks at all. We asked our medical expert what he can tell from the photos.

Asking not to be named, our medical insider said: “The first one is a game ready. It’s a portable ice machine that compressed and provides cold relief. Usually, these are for injuries, but that could be something very minor like a kick or could be for more severe ones like ligament/muscle damage. You can have attachments for any body part.

“The second photo is a set of NormaTec pants. They’re compression pants and are used to aid recovery by providing rhythmic compression throughout the lower limbs. They aid removal of waste substances after exercise.”

If Salah is nursing a knock then there’s no point in risking anything against Porto. Next weekend’s huge showdown at Old Trafford will be the focus as the tie comes immediately after Porto visit Anfield tomorrow evening. The likes of Dom Solanke, Danny Ings and Adam Lallana can all fill in if need be.

For Henderson, the pants could simply be part of his after-match recovery. Similar to Salah though, there’s no point in taking any chances if it’s anything more. There’s plenty of midfield options to pick from and those who start midweek may well not next weekend.

Klopp’s pre-match press conference will be telling.
