Andrew Robertson is set to be handed his Liverpool debut this Saturday when the Reds take on Hertha Berlin due to a thigh injury to James Milner.

Liverpool’s pre-season preparations continue on Saturday when they take on Hertha Berlin and while for fans it’s simply another chance to watch our boys in action, one Liverpool player will be feeling the nerves.

James Milner’s thigh problem sustained in Hong Kong means Alberto Moreno is likely to start at left-back and with Jon Flanagan only receiving the final 7 minutes of game time against Leicester, new signing Andrew Robertson could be given his Liverpool debut.

The ECHO report that while Milner’s injury is not thought to be serious and the Englishman has not yet been officially ruled out of any of the Reds upcoming friendlies, he “will complete a specific training programme this week in order to manage his availability to Jurgen Klopp before rejoining his teammates in their full pre-season schedule.”

Robertson signed for Liverpool last week in a deal expected to be worth between £8-10m but the timing of his finalisation meant the former Hull City defender wasn’t confirmed in time for the Reds’ PL Asia Trophy commitments in Hong Kong.

However, with the Scotsman due to report to training all of this week and friendly fixtures lined up in Germany from Saturday until Wednesday, Robertson is likely to get plenty of game time.

Robertson won’t be the only expected addition to the squad’s training and potential match-day squads though, with Sadio Mané and Emre Can both back in full first-team training and expected to embark on the tour.

Robertson may not be the mega-money, high-profile signing that fans have been craving for this summer but personally, I’m excited to see how he gets on. Are you? Let us know in the comments down below!
