FC Barcelona have chanced their arm at tempting Liverpool talisman Philippe -Coutinho away from the Reds’ amidst the Neymar to PSG saga.
Not this again.
Honestly, just leave it out would you Barca?
Liverpool’s Brazilian gem Philippe Coutinho has been touted as a ‘priority’ target for FC Barcelona this summer by the Daily Mail.
The publication claim that the European giants will table a mega-money €80m bid for the playmaker in an effort to test the club’s resolve over their key man’s future.
It is, however, suggested that the bid will be turned down by the Reds who do not feel it represents the no.10’s true market value.
Whether that means the club would be open to selling for a higher fee remains to be seen but Jürgen Klopp’s comments earlier this week suggest that Coutinho, among others, will be going nowhere.
“Not only Philippe, but it’s a good thing to talk about because in the transfer window if the world thinks about improving a squad it’s all about bringing in new players,” Klopp reportedly said earlier this week.
However, with PSG lining up a frankly ridiculous bid – believed to be in the region of €200. – for Barcelona’s own Brazilian left winger Neymar JR, the Reds may just have to do a little bit more to try and fend the Spanish club off and keep Coutinho settled.
