Andrew Robertson has left Hull City’s pre-season training camp ahead of an impending £8m move to Liverpool Football Club.
Andy Robertson’s £8m move to Liverpool Football Club has taken another step towards completion with the Scottish left-back flying out of Hull City’s Portugal pre-season training camp on Monday.
The ECHO report that Robertson left the camp for Merseyside to hold talks with Anfield officials over personal terms after Hull granted the fullback permission to talk to the Reds.
Robertson is seen as the perfect replacement for the erratic Spaniard, Alberto Moreno, who is being courted by several clubs – including Swansea and Napoli – and is expected to leave the Reds this summer.
While Robertson isn’t seen as an immediate first-choice, he is Klopp’s priority fullback target and is expected to rival James Milner for the left back starting berth. His development potential is also held in high regard by Jürgen Klopp given his age.
Robertson has made 115 appearances for Hull City since joining from Dundee United in a £3m move back in 2014 and has represented Scotland at senior level 15 times, scoring one goal.
The Reds have been linked with a handful of left-backs all summer, including an ambitious swoop for Benjamin Mendy of Monaco but the Frenchman is set to join Manchester City for £40m.
