Michael Beale, formerly of Liverpool Football Club, has announced he will be leaving his post at Brazilian football side São Paulo.
Former Liverpool Football Club Under-23s coach Michael Beale has announced his resignation from São Paulo football club in Brazil.
Reports began emerging in Brazil on Friday evening suggesting that Beale would be leaving the club before he himself confirmed the news on his official Instagram account.
Initial reports claimed that possible reasons behind the departure were his family struggling to settle in their new South American home along with Beale’s personal frustrations at the club’s player turnover.
In his post, however, Beale rubbishes all of these media claims while asking that his wish to keep the true reasons behind his stepping down private be respected.
Beale left Liverpool for Brazil in December of last year in a surprising and bold move but things had only gone south for the club since.
The Brazilian side currently sit in 16th place in the league, just one point outside the relegation zone.
The former Liverpool youth coach also reveals that he and his family will remain in Brazil for the next few days to take some time to think about their future, with many deliberating that a return to Merseyside could be on the cards.
Beale is highly thought of at Liverpool and is said by Anfield HQ to enjoy a “great relationship,” with first team manager Jürgen Klopp that “was improving all the time.”
