German football expert Lee Price claims that Liverpool potentially signing Naby Keïta from RB Leipzig is a matter of when, not if.
The Naby Keïta rumour train continues to speed up at an alarmingly rapid rate with updates seemingly coming every couple of hours!
This time it’s German football expert Lee Price – who has written two books on the Bundesliga, including a biography on Jürgen Klopp – who has jumped on board.
Price believes that money is no object for the Reds, stating that “Liverpool will definitely sign Keïta and Red Bull are now just trying to get as much as possible for the player.”
“Keïta caught Jurgen Klopp’s attention immediately upon arriving in Germany – scoring the winner against Dortmund on his debut for Leipzig. At the minute, Red Bull are playing hardball, but have already begun moves to replace Keïta.”
Price’s next comments match those of Italian journalist Gabriele Marcotti, who yesterday claimed on Twitter that Liverpool have an agreement in principal with the Guinean over contract length and wages.
“Personal terms have been agreed with the player, who will offer an energetic midfield option which is capable of dictating the play. His agility will suit Klopp’s high press, while his technical skill will provide someone who can carve a defence open.”
Leipzig have so far remained adamant publicly that the player is not for sale but with the Reds willing to shatter the Bundesliga’s record transfer fee – currently belonging to Wolfburg’s sale of Kevin De Bruyne to Manchester City in 2015 – the club could be slightly more willing to part with their biggest asset.
Let us know down below if you think Lee Price is correct about Naby Keïta and whether you believe he’ll be a Liverpool player come the start of the 2017/18 season or not!
