Quotes from April 2016 have emerged in which Naby Keïta praises Liverpool FC and Senegal winger Sadio Mané’s Premier League career.
“Sadio Mané gave me a lot of advice. He showed me the way. Who would not dream of playing in the Premier League and especially to make a mark there like he is doing?
“His career proves that hard work pays off. His help is important for my progress.”
That is Liverpool target Naby Keïta speaking in April, 2016 to Football365 ahead of his eventual move to RB Leipzig.
The Guinean’s evident admiration of the Premier League and the impact Sadio Mané has had in the league – at the time for Southampton – could be good news for the Reds as the club hope to lure him to Merseyside in a big money move this summer.
Further evidence of a potentially mutual admiration between Keïta and Mané was recently posted to the Instagram account of Arena 11 Sports Group who represent both players.
Liverpool are hopeful that their good relationship with the agency due to their fantastic accommodation of Sadio Mané’s personal requests could be a contributing factor in helping Keïta choose a move to Merseyside.
In recent Naby Keïta news, The Times’ Paul Joyce has revealed that the Reds will not be put off by Leipzig’s supposed £70m valuation of their star man and will look to test their resolve by launching a bid in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Italian journalist Gabriele Marcotti has gone one step further, revealing his belief on Twitter that Liverpool and Keïta have agreed contract terms in principal and that all that is left for the Reds to do is finalise a fee with Leipzig and get pen to paper.
Marcotti did, however, warn that “agreements in principal only matter so much,” implying that while there is no written contract on the table, Keïta could easily change his mind at any moment.
