Speaking to the press while on international duty in Australia, Philippe Coutinho has once again taken a stance against links with FC Barcelona.
Philippe Coutinho has once again rejected talk of a move to FC Barcelona this summer, reminding reporters of his “long contract” with Liverpool Football Club.
The little Brazilian is on international duty in Australia with Brazil and is set to captain his country for the first time on Tuesday against the ‘Socceroos’ but reporters had eyes for one topic of conversation in particular during his press conference.
“Talking about this is complicated,” Coutinho responded when asked his thoughts about constant links to the Spanish giants. “I have a contract with my club and it is long. So my focus is on the present and the national team. My focus is here.”
The little magician signed a new five-year deal back in January that is set to kick in from July 1st and while his answer was more diplomatic than anything, it’s certainly nice to hear him continually remind everyone that he’s enjoying representing Liverpool Football Club.
It also helps that this time round there is no Neymar Jr. to try and persuade the Reds No.10 to make the move!
