Reports indicate that Liverpool’s pursuit of Naby Keita is coming along nicely with the Reds happy to meet his salary demands.
According to David Maddock of The Mirror, Liverpool are ready to break their transfer record for RB Leipzig star, Naby Keita. The Guinean international is highly-rated by Jürgen Klopp and the German is reportedly not deterred by the prospect of having to pay upwards of £50m for his services.
Maddock reports that initial talks with Keita’s advisers have progressed well and that the Reds are more than happy to meet his wage demands of £120,000 per week. They are also set to be boosted by the fact the midfielder is represented by the same agency as Reds star man Sadio Mané.
The former Southampton winger has spoken often about his appreciation towards the extra mile that Liverpool have gone to accommodate his personal demands – a prayer room was added at Melwood while Mané also has his own personal chef.
Maddock believes that business won’t just stop with Keita however, as the Reds look to splash upwards of £150m, with a spree topping the £200m bracket not out of the question if Klopp deems it necessary. This goes along with recent reports that our owners are happy to back Klopp with whatever funds he feels he needs this summer in order to add proven quality and depth to his squad.
Maddock names Alexandre Lacazette, Luan, Ryan Sessegnon, Virgil Van Dijk and Schalke’s Leon Goretzka as being on Klopp’s wish-list.
