Jack Hallows takes you through Monday’s rumours, stories and general silly season twitter updates.

It was a busy one yesterday with a number of players added to the ‘monitoring’ list and even more added to the ‘eyeing a summer move for’ list.

In fact, from what I’ve seen just yesterday alone, Liverpool would end up with an entire squad of new players worth somewhere in the region of £250-300 million. God, I love the silly season.

Anyway, here’s some of the more interesting rumours that have come from genuinely reputable sources.

Isco – Real Madrid – Marca

Spanish publication Marca reported yesterday that despite signing a new contract tying the player to the Bernabeu until 2022, Isco’s representatives met with Liverpool to sound out a potential summer move.

Isco had reportedly become fed up with a lack of playing time at Real Madrid over the first half of the season but has since found himself featuring heavily in the absence of Gareth Bale.

He may not be coming to Anfield any time soon but knowing he’s the class of player being sounded out by Jürgen Klopp is certainly reassuring when it comes to the club’s summer plans.

Douglas Costa – FC Bayern Munich – SPORT BILD

According to German outlet Sport Bild, Klopp is a long-term admirer of Bayern Munich’s Brazilian winger Douglas Costa and could look to move for him this summer.

They claim the 26-year-old would command a fee of between “25 and 30 million” – presumably Euros – and that Tottenham and Juventus are also monitoring his situation.

He’s not had the best of seasons with the Bavarians under Ancelotti but if Klopp can rekindle this kind of form in the Brazilian, he’d surely be a worthy investment.

Faouzi Ghoulam – Napoli – Daily Star

The Daily Star have reported that Jurgen Klopp could be considering a move for Napoli left back Faouzi Ghoulam this Summer.

The publication report that when speaking to TT Network ‘Rai,’ Italian journalist Ciro Venerato revealed three possible destinations for the player this upcoming window with Liverpool – alongside Atletico and Tottenham – being one of them.

The fullback has been in good form for the Italian club and would be a smart signing for the Reds given their struggles at left back in recent years.

Daniel Sturridge – On the way out?

Changing the tone for a minute as the Daily Telegraph have reported their belief that Daniel Sturridge has played his final game for Liverpool FC.

The publication have reported that his latest injury could put him out for the final four weeks of the 2016/17 season and that his injury record means any bids that come in for him this summer will “inevitably” have to be considered. A shame that his Liverpool career has to end in this manner.
