Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool are confident of landing one of the many talented players that could be on the move from the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
The Reds have been decent but have failed to find consistency throughout the campaign as they lost a chance to put pressure on Chelsea, who to be fair, have not and do not look like slipping up.
Though they are in a decent position to qualify for the Champions League, they will have to see out the rest of the season well to keep Manchester United and Arsenal below them till the end of the season.
Their qualification to the elite competition now has more value as according to reports from The Mirror, that is all that stands between the English club landing one of the most exciting stars in Europe, James Rodriguez.
Also a matter of around £65 million!
The Colombian international came to the fore with a dazzling World Cup for his country, which earned him a big money move to Real Madrid not too long later.
However, he has not been able to cement a place in the first team ever since and has been on the fringes even under the current manager.
Zinedine Zidane, who has a chance to spend big after recent transfer bans, is hoping to shape a brand new Real Madrid and is open to selling the likes of Alvaro Morata and Isco along with Rodriguez.
And the report claims that Liverpool may be the front runners for his signature this summer.
Also linked to Manchester United and Chelsea recently, Rodriguez has five goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season and is valued at £65 million.
Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with the player’s agent and are confident that if they secure Champions League football, they can land the star before their English rivals.
Champions League football, remains the key!
