Today, a rumour began circulating on Twitter that Adam Lallana has picked up an injury while on international duty with England.
It’s really a sign of Adam Lallana’s rise to prominence this season that any suggestion that Liverpool will have to make do without him is responded to with outrage.
If Lallana is injured, it wouldn’t be the first time this season that he has suffered an injury while on international duty. Liverpool fans, and most every other, hate the international break for the simple fact that it risks the fitness of key players in often pointless fixtures.
It is very important that it is communicated that these rumours are unconfirmed and an authoritative figure is yet to respond. That being said, you can’t help but feel that Liverpool losing Adam Lallana for up to four weeks would be a terrible blow to the club’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Liverpool host Everton on Saturday and should Lallana be missing for what promises to be a very exciting Merseyside derby, Jürgen Klopp will have a job on his hands to sort his midfield out.
As it stands, Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum are definitely fit, Jordan Henderson is in contention to play against the Toffees and Adam Lallana could be out if rumours are to be believed.
For now, however, I would wait for official news regarding Lallana before stressing too much about this weekend’s clash with Everton.
