Borussia Dortmund are not ready to sell the Gabon international unless there is a mind-blowing offer on the cards this summer.
Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool are set to be one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market at the end of the season as they need to improve on their squad significantly if they are to compete with the best next season.
This has seen them linked with a number of top class players and one name that has been doing the rounds recently is Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Reds are desperate for goal scoring forwards who are prolific and have reportedly placed the 27-year old at the top of their wishlist for this summer.
He has constantly been linked with an exit with Real Madrid also interested in his signature but his potential suitors must come up with an ‘outrageous offer’ to be able to land him at the end of the season.
Speaking to the media in a recent interview, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke revealed that the Bundesliga outfit have no intention of selling the player but felt that a big money bid might see the club let him leave.
“As of yet, I have no information that suggests Auba will leave Dortmund. If we were to reach that point, we will sit down and listen to each other, we have a lot of respect for Auba and he deserves that,” he said.
“But there are not an awful lot of clubs that would be a step forward for him in my opinion. Either way, he will only leave Dortmund for an outrageous transfer fee if he does move,” Watzke added.
Standing as one of the most prolific goal scorers at the moment, Aubameyang is a star who will be in high demand this summer but do you think Liverpool will pay big for his services?
