Liverpool and Manchester City played out a frenetic draw at the Etihad Stadium which could hold serious consequences for the race for the top four.
It was a share of the spoils with each team securing a single point at the Etihad on Sunday evening. After a slow start, Liverpool picked up the pace around the 20th minute.
After multiple missed chances from the home side, the Merseyside outfit struck first in the 50th minute. After Emre Can played an excellent ball into Firmino, the Brazilian forward went down in the box and Liverpool were awarded a penalty.
Up stepped James Milner who scored his seventh penalty of the season. Milner has now scored in 47 Premier League games and has not lost a single match in which he has scored in.
Pep’s men then went on to equalise in the 68th minute thanks to Sergio Aguero. Adam Lallana then went onto the miss a chance to win the game which I am sure will haunt Liverpool fans for weeks to come.
In the end, it was an even result. Both teams missed their fair chance of sitters and both teams played hard. Onto the Merseyside Derby in two weeks time.
