Club opens contract talks with star man
And now for the good news that every Red fan wants to read!
Liverpool have opened talks with Philippe Coutinho over a new and improved contract, report the Daily Telegraph.
Over the past nine months or so, any talk surrounding the Brazilian midfielder has often been that linking him with an exit from the Reds, with European giants the size of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona said to be interested in his services.
That, though, still hasn’t affected his performances on the pitch, even despite a lengthy lay-off and it is now said that club owners Fenway Sports Group are keen to tie the little magician down to a new contract in order to ensure that talks linking him with a move elsewhere are silenced and their campaign to bring success to the Merseyside club is boosted by a man who is viewed as their best player.
Should it be true and the Boston-based franchise pull it off, this deal will surely be Liverpool’s best since manager Jürgen Klopp committed his own future to Anfield last summer.
Liverpool interested in Bury youngster
Youngsters with potential have certainly not been in short supply for Liverpool this month, as yet another one in Jacob Bedeau has been linked with a move to Anfield.
That is according to the Birmingham Mail, who report that the Bury youngster is being watched by both the Reds and their rivals Manchester United. Bury have reportedly also rejected a transfer bid from Aston Villa worth £750,000, with the club thought to be holding out for a seven-figure fee for their player.
They’re likely to get what they want from financial powerhouses like United and Liverpool but fans of both clubs will surely be wondering just how good this Bedeau kid is before supporting such a move.
