As we look ahead to Liverpool’s FA Cup replay tie at Plymouth Argyle tomorrow night, one of the youngsters in contention to make a start initially finds himself in the January transfer headlines, as do two other potential targets.

Welcome to the latest transfer news roundup.

Ojo staying put

We start off with a piece of news by the Liverpool ECHO, who report that Reds youngster Sheyi Ojo will not be made available for any sort of transfer this month.

Championship club Newcastle United are one of a number of clubs reportedly keen to sign the striker on loan, however, it is understood that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has no interest in allowing that to happen, as Ojo is seen as a key player in a campaign that still sees Liverpool compete on all three fronts.

Mahmoud Dahoud, the one that got away last summer!

Or the gem Liverpool will unearth next summer? View it how you want, either way, Gazzetta Dello Sport report, via the ECHO, that Italian Serie A outfit Milan have joined the Reds in casting their eyes on a move for the midfielder, who is expected to leave Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season.

Dahoud has only scored once and assisted twice for the Bundesliga club this season and is viewed as a player with potential to be great. Liverpool, though, are not the only side who believe this, with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund names also mentioned as possible destinations for the youngster.

We have already spoken of FC Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac as a potential target for Liverpool this month and last week it was reported that the Reds had received a boost for him with Schalke’s chairman coming out to declare that the Bosnian will remain at the German club – that, despite his contract expiring in the summer.

However, according to Tuttosport, via the ECHO, Juventus could be set to approach Schalke, with the intentions of negotiating a cut-price deal for Kolasinac in this window.

Oh well, this piece of news hasn’t received much, if any, fanfare at all, so perhaps they can have him without even a Red flinch.
