How good is it to have strength in depth? I’m actually surprised that I’m sat here writing about Liverpool Football Club having quality in depth, it feels so good to say it, doesn’t it?

All successful clubs have a strong squad and Liverpool finally do too. Strong options across the pitch, it’s rather reminiscent of Gerard Houllier’s Liverpool back in the early 2000’s if you ask me.

In the past, we’ve relied on players like Stewart Downing, Jonjo Shelvey, David N’gog, Andriy Voronin and Mario Balotelli to come off the bench and make a difference. Now we have Origi, Sturridge and Can to come on. It’s that strong that Danny Ings can’t even make the bench!

We’ve gone from 10 decent players with one game changer and then a squad full mediocre crap, to a mixture of electrifying young talent, quality fringe players, experienced heads and top talent. What’s even better is that they have all bought into the gaffer’s plan and are already reaping the rewards.
