A settled defence?
A lot of people still claim that our defence can still be worked on, they’re probably right, but we have definitely improved at the back.
One clean sheet all season would suggest that we would still need a lot of work doing, but that’s simply not the case. In the last ten games in all competitions, they have conceded three goals from open play with the last of these being against Chelsea back in mid-September. Thus meaning we haven’t conceded in open play in the last six.
All the stats point to a much improved and stable back four, however, as you all know we have still been conceding goals, so it does also show that we still need to work on one thing. Of course, I am talking about set pieces. Three clean sheets all season with just one coming in the league just goes to show that we aren’t quite the finished article just yet, but the signs are definitely promising.
