The Fantastic Four
We’ve been great in a number of areas to be honest so it was hard to pick four things that have impressed me the most, but I was in no doubt over this one and I think everyone will agree here. That front four of Mané, Firmino, Coutinho and Lallana has been the thing that has stood out above the rest.
It’s been unparalleled so far and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The four have grabbed 16 goals between them and have had a part to play in all the goals that have come from open play in the league. The clever off-the-ball runs to drag defenders away and create space, the constant rotation of the positions they take up makes them so unpredictable, the fluidity of the interplay – it’s all just a joy to behold and the speed they do it at means at times they are unplayable.
In the past, we’ve not been able to break teams down, but no longer is that a problem. Let’s just hope this carries on long into the future.
