Michael Baddeley discusses four positive talking points from Liverpool’s start to the season.

So far, this season has been overwhelming, to say the least. We’ve played scintillating football, we’re joint top and in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup. Who’d have thought we’d be saying this after the start we were given?

When the fixtures were announced there was a very mixed reaction from the supporters and who can blame them? Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea away along with defending champions Leicester and arch-rivals Man United at home within the first eight gameweeks is anything but easy.

A lot of people wrote us off before the season even started, mainly rival fans of course, but nevertheless – we were still written off. How wrong do those people look so far?

As I previously said, it’s nine games into the season and we are joint top. We’ve beaten Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester as well as taking a point from Tottenham and United, although it could have easily been a win in all five and we could be six points clear.

Since that frustrating loss against Burnley in August, the Reds have gone unbeaten in all competitions. In fact, the unbeaten run has reached double figures, 10 games to be exact, and with the run of games coming up things are looking very promising for the Merseyside outfit.

But after such a good start, what aspects have been the most impressive about the Reds?
