4. “BOOM!”
Personally, this remains my favourite Klopp moment.
It was only a few days following Liverpool’s painful League Cup final loss to Manchester City and the Reds were to face the Citizens again, this time in the Premier League.
Klopp’s men were ruthless in avenging their cup loss, as goals from Lallana, James Milner and Roberto Firmino saw them beat Manuel Pellegrini’s men 3-0 to reinstate belief within the Anfield faithful.
Asked, in his post-match interview, to describe the action, Klopp said:
“It was for sure our best home game (since I arrived). The best word that I can say to describe this is ‘boom’!” the German mildly said.
“‘Wooohh’ what was this?! It was really good!”
“It showed us what these boys are capable of and from the first second it was a really good performance.”
Indeed it was, and so was the Liverpool boss’ own performance in front of the camera. Such is the infectious character of Klopp that arguably any football fan will produce a wide smile just listening to him speak and on this occasion, he surely made us laugh as ‘boom’ became the new buzzword to describe the German.
