West Bromwich Albion vs West Ham United

West Brom manager Tony Pulis expressed some doubt over his side’s ability to make it to January next year in a safe position on the league table.

The Welshman is clearly still not satisfied with his summer signings or his entire squad for that matter and I would honestly agree with him on that issue.

West Ham experienced a real game of mixed emotions last week against Watford. It’s almost unlike the Hammers to showboat – as many claimed they were doing with a couple of rabonas – but then again, it’s completely unlike them to defend as horribly as they did in the match at the London Stadium.

I don’t think some observers are right to blame that defeat on the new stadium as if it would’ve been any better at Upton Park (even I would be baffled if Reds fans begin to blame even a single home defeat on the new main stand). It’s all a matter of putting it all behind them in order to focus on this clash at the Hawthorns.

Slaven Bilič has a luxury of attacking options but the Croatian will be expecting a much better performance from his defenders. If they can produce it then I think they’ll win this one.

Manchester City vs AFC Bournemouth

Manchester City fans would’ve been very pleased to hear manager Pep Guardiola insist that his squad is still not good enough to win the Premier League, or indeed the Champions League.

The Citizens have won every game they’ve played under the Spaniard so far and I think the exciting thing for Sky Blues’ fans will be the prospect of seeing their side grow under Guardiola, as they seek to continue their winning run.

Bournemouth fans themselves will have something to brag about in striker Callum Wilson. The Englishman found the back of the net for the first time ever since his return from a lengthy lay-off last week, with a cheeky back-heel against West Brom. That good feeling that strikers get from scoring goals is surely one the Cherries marksman has missed and now that he’s finally tasted it again, Bournemouth fans can certainly expect a much hungrier Wilson.

He will be on the hunt at the Etihad Stadium but I think Man City are too strong at the moment, even without Sergio Aguero, they’ve got bags of quality in the side and it will be more than enough to see them win this match on Saturday afternoon.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Bournemouth
