Alex Rogers explains why Saturday’s clash Premier League clash between Liverpool and Leicester City should generate excitement.

This Saturday, Liverpool take on current Premier League champions Leicester City. I don’t really need to tell you why this game should be a great game to watch and why it’s very important we take all 3 points, but I’m going to tell you anyway.

Firstly, this will be the first home game of the season, and with the new stand, it promises to be an amazing atmosphere! I can already imagine the thought of a roaring, beautiful rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” echoing around the stadium, not just shaking the foundations of the stadium, but also people’s hearts. It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. But yeah, that will be pretty cool.

The new stand actually makes Anfield the 5th largest stadium in the Premier League. Now that’s something to be proud of. And, undoubtedly, it will only add to Anfield’s already amazing atmosphere.

Let’s also talk about the opposition that we will be facing; Leicester City. Now I don’t know what it is but I feel many people have already written Leicester off this season and put their amazing season last season down to good luck. A season like that doesn’t happen by pure good fortune. Let’s not underestimate them. Saying that, we do have an amazing chance against them.

Leicester City. Now I don’t know what it is, but I feel many people have already written off Leicester this season and put their amazing season last season down to good luck. Leicester has not had an amazing start to this season. But on the other hand, neither have we. #kloppout am I right? But on a serious note, winning this game is very important as getting that big win to carry momentum and confidence forward and, hopefully, starting and maintaining that winning streak early on in the season is pivotal. In an ideal world that would’ve carried on after the Arsenal game but, oh well.

Also, the match itself has the potential to be exhilaratingly fast paced, football ecstasy if you will. And who doesn’t love fast-paced, end-to-end football? I expect goals in this game. Hopefully, most of them will be for us, maybe all of them, if our defence shapes up.

Despite returning to full training, it seems unlikely that everyone’s favourite 23-year-old German goalkeeper, Loris Karius, most likely won’t be in goal on Saturday. So, we will have to enjoy another ninety minutes of tension with Mignolet in goal. Yay.But yeah, this game should hopefully be a good one and it definitely will be an important one. This game has me very excited and you should be too.
