Rousing the Kop has a stab at predicting the lineup that Jürgen Klopp will field against Burnley at Turf Moor today.

Liverpool are the visiting side once again in gameweek 2 of the new Premier League season after a successful trip to the Emirates last week. Today’s game would’ve taken place at Anfield but due to the renovations taking place the fixture was moved to Turf Moor.

Liverpool will be confident of taking full points against the Premier League new boys with Klopp able to boast a near full strength side since James Milner and Daniel Sturridge have returned to the side.

There are still question marks surrounding the team that will be chosen with Sadio Mane out inured which leaves room for someone to come in and impress.

What does Michael Baddeley think?

Formation: 4-2-3-1

XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Coutinho, Origi

Unchanged at the back, just on the fact that if we keep chopping and changing then the lads won’t gel each and we could see goals shipped on a regular basis. Moreno – yes, he’s made howlers but his attacking outlet could cause problems and he has Klopp’s backing

We missed Emre Can against Arsenal I think. At times we looked a little uncomfortable on the ball and he brings that calmness needed in the middle of midfield. I think Hendo is pretty nailed on to start, I didn’t think he’d really play much this season but with Klopp playing him against Arsenal and being captain I think he will get the nod.

Wijnaldum to replace the injured Mane on the right. The other two attacking midfield options speak for their self. I think he will go with Origi from the start. His desire and pace to pick up any loose ball, along with the fact that he can link up play really well, will be the reason Klopp gives him the nod.

Prediction: It’s typical Liverpool to beat a top team then struggle against a team like Burnley, no disrespect to them! On that reasoning, I’m going to say 2-1 to Liverpool!

Onto Sean Clansey’s prediction…

Fingers crossed the red men keep up their momentum from their extravagant victory over Arsenal last week to go out and absolutely thrash Burnley.

I’m thinking 2 or 3 goals and a clean sheet at the least. I mean, depending on the attacking threat in our lineup we could potentially walk out 5 or 6 nil winners.

In order to make sure we win this game, and win it comfortably, I think we should line up like this in a 4-3-2-1 formation:

Mignolet – With Karius out he’s our only option bar Alex Manninger who is quite up to Premier League standard. Plus, he didn’t play too bad last week at the Emirates.

Clyne – Nailed on starter. Only player in our squad who can do the job he’s assigned to.

Lovren – It wasn’t his best performance at Arsenal but nevertheless he’s a solid player who should keep his place.

Matip – Excited to see how he does for Liverpool. Fully fit now and Burnley seems like the perfect team to throw him in for his debut.

Klavan – With Milner still not fully fit and Moreno an absolute calamity, I’d try the ever-reliable Klavan at LB.

Can – Coming back into the team to add a bit more balance to a shaky midfield. Bit deeper than the other 2 centre midfielders.

Lallana – Deserves to keep his place after an outstanding performance last week. Tireless chasing and endless running will be key in breaking down a team like Burnley.

Henderson – Partnering Lallana this week instead of playing slightly deeper last week. Introduction of Can should give him more license to roam.

Firmino – Expect him to grab a goal or two, thrives against teams like Burnley. Solid performance last week.

Coutinho – No explanation needed. An absolute no-brainer.

Sturridge – Fresh from an injury and trying to nail down his starting position in a very strong Liverpool attack. Burnley is the perfect team to do so against.

I’m going with a very comfortable 3-0 for Liverpool (Sturridge x2, Firmino). If we keep Andre Gray quit it should be a breeze.
