The ‘best possible source’ has just given an update on Rio Ngumoha’s future

Rio Ngumoha is a wanted man after bursting onto the scene at Liverpool during the 2025/26 season.

Despite Arne Slot not wanting to start him regularly, the teenager impressed during his limited appearances last term.

In turn, it was not at all surprising to see that Bayern Munich want to sign Ngumoha this summer. However, there is no chance that Liverpool will part ways with the rising star, it has now been said.

Liverpool will not let Rio Ngumoha leave amid Bayern Munich interest

Speaking to the BBC, Lewis Bower has now shared what he has heard about the Reds youngster.

He claims to have a source inside academy football, and they told him there is now ‘no chance’ that the Merseyside outfit will let Ngumoha go.

Bower explained: “I do have a particularly well-placed person in academy football at a consultation, somebody who works in sports consultation.

“I believe he said to me it’s from the best possible source, so take from that what you will. I’d never tweet anything that I didn’t believe to be true, but yeah, it stands by absolutely no chance of that happening.”

That is great news for Liverpool, especially given their lack of depth in the wide areas going into the 2026 summer transfer window.

How much would it take for Liverpool to decide Ngumoha should be sold?

Surely if the bid was big enough they'd have to at least think about it…

Rio Ngumoha could force Cody Gakpo to leave Liverpool

Ngumoha was one of the few bright sparks in what was a very poor 2025/26 season for Liverpool.

Fans would now no doubt love to see the 17-year-old given a more prominent role under Andoni Iraola moving forward.

But if that does happen, there is talk that Cody Gakpo will want to move away this summer.

That probably wouldn’t bother most Liverpool supporters, given how the Dutchman played last season.

However, it would likely force the Reds to dip into the transfer market to sign another winger on top of the Mohamed Salah replacement.
