Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Everton last month will go down as one of the most dramatic fixtures of the Premier League this season.
A last-minute equaliser from James Tarkowski saw the points shared in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, with the full-time whistle bringing about a brawl that saw players and coaches sent off from both sides.
With Curtis Jones defending the away supporters from Abdoulaye Doucoure’s taunts after the match had ended, the fallout from the game brought about plenty of talking points and discussion, though Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes were not dented by the result given what has happened since.
And the FA have now explained why Liverpool coach Sipke Hulshoff was fined after what happened during the fallout against Everton.
Sipke Hulshoff fined for ‘improper’ language towards officials
As per the FA’s official website, the Dutch coach received a £7,000 fine for ‘improper, insulting and abusive words’ towards the officials after full-time, with Huslhoff also receiving a red card for his actions at full-time.
With Arne Slot also being fined by the FA for his actions towards the officials at Goodison Park, Liverpool’s coaches have been severely punished for losing their cool at the end of what was an emotionally charged game.
Indeed, Slot seemed annoyed from the perspective of Everton fans in the days following the match, with the Liverpool managed left frustrated by how the Merseyside derby was officiated and the eventual outcome of the match.
However, the Reds’ have responded brilliantly to their dramatic draw against the Toffees, and even though PSG’s form is better than Liverpool’s heading into tonight’s UEFA Champions Legue tie, few supporters will be complaining with how the Anfield side have performed since the derby.

How good have Liverpool been since 2-2 Everton draw?
Four Premier League games have passed since Liverpool’s dramatic fixture against Everton at Goodison Park, and it’s safe to say that results have been impressive since the draw in the blue half of Merseyside.

Coupled with Arsenal dropping points against West Ham and Nottingham Forest, Liverpool have won three of their last four games since the draw against Everton, with the highlight, of course, coming away to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Indeed, a win tonight in Paris will cap off an excellent run of form since last month’s draw at Everton, and Slot will be keen to come away from the Parc de Princes with a big result in the Champions League.
