Oleksandr Zinchenko highlights Anfield threat ahead of Liverpool clash

Oleksandr Zinchenko has highlighted how dangerous Liverpool can be playing at Anfield, with the Arsenal defender looking to break the Gunners’ winless drought in the red half of Merseyside.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Ukrainian international noted how big a stage it is in football to play at Anfield, a ground Arsenal have not won at since 2012 and where the Gunners’ Premier League title bid this season could be won or lost.

Many pundits and fans are tipping Arsenal’s result to determine how far the north London side can challenge Manchester City for the title, with Zinchenko fully aware of the pressure playing at Anfield can cause, especially in the biggest of matches.

Liverpool have already beaten the fullback’s former club City this season in one of Jurgen Klopp’s best results this campaign. And for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s side could befall a similar fate if they’re not wary of the problems the Reds can cause the Premier League leaders.

Zinchenko said on playing at Anfield: “Everyone knows how dangerous Liverpool are, they’re an amazing team so it doesn’t matter where they are in the table. Every single game against them is a massive game, especially at Anfield as it is a special place where you never know what’s going to happen.”

Liverpool might not have been at their best this season, but their form at home has still been rather impressive, with the Reds’ 7-0 win against Manchester United a contender for the result of the entire Premier League campaign. And Anfield could again be too much for Arsenal to handle.

The Gunners have suffered numerous collapses against Liverpool, including numerous losses by four-goal margins, and whilst Arsenal might be hitting new highs under Arteta this season, there is still a real chance that Zinchenko’s worries could become a reality.
