Liverpool absolutely breezed through Champions League Group B which was supposedly the Group of Death.
It’s bad enough that Jurgen Klopp’s side walloped Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford and thrashed Everton 4-1 at Goodison Park but their Champions League performances further embarrass their biggest rivals.
In 15 Premier League games this season, Everton have only managed 18 points. Liverpool secured that points total in just six Champions League games against Atletico Madrid, Porto and AC Milan.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have picked up just six more points in the Premier League than Liverpool have in the Champions League. It’s great to see the Reds performing so well but it’s even better to see it contrast with our rivals’ poor records.
Klopp is working miracles at Liverpool
Klopp has worked wonders with Liverpool and, despite competing with the highest spenders and the biggest squads, he has his side playing wonderfully. The fact that he took his reserves to the San Siro and beat the Serie A league leaders is incredible.
They do have injury issues of their own but Klopp made EIGHT changes from the side that beat Wolves on Saturday to the one that played at the San Siro. I’m convinced that the German is a miracle worker.
If Liverpool can avoid dropping too many points in January when Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah leave for AFCON, they should be able to win something.
They are one of the strongest teams in the Champions League and are flying in the Premier League right now.
The Anfield outfit is free-scoring and are improving defensively all the time. 17 goals scored in Europe in six games and 44 in 15 in the Premier League is outrageous.
