Liverpool are set to face AC Milan this evening in the final Champions League group stage game of the season and Fikayo Tomori has praised the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp’s side has been spotless in Europe. Drawn into the so-called ‘Group of Death, Liverpool have made a mockery of the draw.
15 points from a possible 15, the Anfield outfit were already confirmed as the top seed from the group before facing Porto in the previous fixture. Not bad.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Tomori has high praise for the Reds and is aware of the threat they pose.
“It will not be easy, they are a team with great intensity and quality. They won the Champions League recently,” said Tomori.
“English football is very intense. Tomorrow’s opponents have achieved good results but we’ve also done a great job, we have to give them a hard time like in the first leg.
“Liverpool is an exceptional team but we are not less than them.”
Jurgen Klopp is set to rotate his team quite heavily from the one that narrowly beat Wolves at the weekend. However, a win will not be beyond the players he selects despite Milan topping Serie A after 16 games.
It is going to be a challenging game for Liverpool but an exciting one nonetheless. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane should be in the starting XI which gives the Reds a strong chance of victory.
Tomori is right though. The ‘intensity and quality’ the Merseysiders play with is a tough task for opponents. If the makeshift side that Klopp selects can mirror the usual starting XI, we should be in for a fantastic game.
